15th Annual Gala was a Success
Modesto (May 27, 2016)–On May 21, 2016 over 600 community members braved the “tropical” weather and gathered at the home of Tom and Julia Haidlen’s in Oakdale for the 15th Annual Community Hospice Foundation Margaritaville gala. Guests enjoyed Live and Silent Auctions, a raffle, dinner by Chef Jon Surla, and dancing to Modesto’s Third Party Band.
Community Hospice respects a patient’s right to choose and participate in its hospice care plan, and to exercise their right under the End of Life Option Act.
Community Hospice reaffirms its philosophy that values life and will not act in any manner to hasten the dying process. Our primary responsibility is to provide quality hospice care and support to our patients and families/caregivers. Upon request by our patient, we will provide information on the End of Life Option Act and a referral to a participating physician and/or other resources.
Each year during National Volunteer Week Community Hospice takes the opportunity to say “thank you” to the many volunteers that support our mission. This years theme was, Celebrate Service…Celebrating You! During the event we honor four dedicated volunteers with the Mary Jean Coeur-Baron “Volunteer of the Year” award. Recipients are chosen from the following areas of service – Community Hospice, Community Hospice Foundation Friends of Hospice, Community Hospice Hope Chest Thrift Stores and Camp Erin Modesto.
Community Hospice’s Director of Public Relations, Kristin Mostowski was recently published in HERLIFE Magazine. She writes about seizing the oppotunity to make our own end-of-life choices while we have the chance by not being afraid to have the conversation.
