Our Mission & Purpose

Our Mission

The mission of Community Hospice is to provide compassionate and quality care, education and support to terminally ill patients and their families, regardless of ability to pay.

Our Purpose

The Community Hospice Foundation is a charitable organization established in 2001 to raise funds and awareness for Community Hospice. We have made a commitment to help anyone who needs hospice services and because of that commitment we rely on the generosity of our community to realize our mission.

The Community Hospice Foundation also cooperates with the Friends of Hospice, an auxiliary of volunteers who assist in raising funds through events.

Light Up a Life Holiday Tree

The annual Holiday Tree is lit in a special ceremony in early December in front of Memorial Medical Center. The tree, with its multitude of lights, has come to represent healing and hope during the holidays.

Designers' Showhouse

Since 1982, this signature event has given homes a complete design “makeover” long before television shows made the concept popular. In 2007, over $100,000 was raised for patients and families of Community Hospice.

Gala

Since the inception of the Foundation in 2001, the Gala has been an event that brings together the whole community to support Community Hospice in an evening of celebration, dancing and dining. Many of the community businesses sponsor the evening with all proceeds benefiting the patients and families of Community Hospice.
