We accepted our first patient at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in March 2005, after many years of hard work and planning on the part of our leadership team, staff, volunteers and the community. It is due in large part to the generosity of our community that we were able to provide the hospice house as another option to our patients and families.

Our goal is to keep most of our patients at home, where they prefer to be. At times, their pain and symptoms cannot be managed at home, and they require round-the-clock nursing care. The Alexander Cohen Hospice House, in Hughson, provides an option with sixteen private inpatient rooms, 24-hour care, and a comfortable home-like setting.

Admission to the Alexander Cohen Hospice House is based on physician approval, available space and acuity/need, depending on whether symptoms can be managed at home or if a caregiver is available.
